PMP for travelling

Hi!

I've never owned a portable media player before, and my iPod is proving to be far too small for long distance viewing..

I've been looking at the new Archos players, alongside the Cowon Q5 and O2.

I'm looking for the player to be easy to use, simple to transfer files onto (is there a guide for putting video's onto the player anywhere on the forum?) and quite small and light for travelling (but with a good enough screen for long journeys!)

Any suggestions/help would be great, as I'm getting pretty confused by all of the choices!

Well, what size of screen do you want?

if you could handle the 3.2" effort on the Cowon S9, definately wortha look . The AMOLED screen is stunning and you have 11 hours video and 56 hours audio off a single charge. My personal player!

If your not wanting a web browser or the DVR functionality of the Archos, I'd look at the O2. If you are the Q5 runs rtings around the Archos unit.

Still, whatever model you eventually go for, not bad options here.

If you are flying be sure to check out some Shure or Ultimate Ears products first also ;)

How would the S9 compare to the iPod touch? - I like the look of the web browsing and apps that it offers - but as something that I probably wouldn't use very often are they really worth the extra money?

If only the S9 had web browsing capabilities! Is this something that they will be looking to do in the future with their smaller players?

..Think I'll read a few more reviews and let you know what I decide on!

What i would want would be small, light weight big memory and also some kind of solar power charger to plug in.

Do these exist? that way on a holiday you could have it all the time!!!

Quite simply;

its doesnt have the browser

Every other regard it kills it - UI not quite as slick, but very close.

Screen way better

Sound - x the ipod

Battery life - 11 hours video, and 56 audio!!!!

Try one - you've got 7 days to return it should you not like it :ph34r:
