Monolith mx-7010 hanged

Hi,

I have a Monolith mx-7010 (1GB) which has worked fine for over a year.
During my last file transfer I accidentally transferred a .m3u file (winamp playlist file). When the monolith came to this file (after all the other songs) it hanged.

Now I cannot do anything. After startup, the display only shows the name of the file and the timer stands still. No button on the player has any effect at all, only Reset. The Reset only shuts the player down. After starting, it hangs again.

I can't connect to my PC. Windows doesn't recognize the player anymore, upon connecting the monolith freezes at the screen as it does when I turn it on normally (the song information shouldn't appear at all when USB-connected!).

I tried removing the battery and attached it again, but it had no effect (I guess it's rather similar to the Reset function).


Please, if there's anything you know that could help, I'd be very grateful. Is there any way to "hard reset" or format the machine without connecting it to a PC, since I can't do that.

Have a go at the instructions in this thread and see if it makes a difference. I'd suggest after resetting to connect it to the pc first to see if it will connect

It worked fine. I don't mind loosing the files, they can always be re-added. Replacing the player is a bit more expensive ;)

Hi,

I have the Monolith MX 7000 and the following problem: After I've tried to put some new folders on my player, the menu shows only bars. So I have no scripture anymore and can read nothing on the display :huh:

I've allready tried to put the last firmware on the player but it didn't work... (I've used the version from the Monolith Section in this forum without a flashing tool)

If there is anybody out there who can help me, I wil think of you till the rest of my life :blink:

My Monolith MX-7010 has hanged it only shows name in display and no buttons seem to work except power button. Can anyone help?

Hi,

I've never used a Monolith player I'm afraid (just a little bit before my time). The only thing worth suggesting is seeing if you can find any guide still kicking about the internet.

funny. i have one of these monolith 1gb buggers that i picked up while living over in Cambridge for a few years :) now back in H-town; back in the 'Trose.

I'll tell you what Elliot. There were pdf manuals posted in a thread on the old AMP3 forum,a few years back :) i'll bet that crap is archived somewhere.

i'd kill just to know that button combo to record and preview. crazy simple you'd think. not so. unless i'm a moron or my unit is effed up.
