IUBI S30 problem

Hi,

Basically, whenever I plug my S30 into a machine it is either taking ages(20+ minutes) to be recognised or iis not being recognised. When it is found, it is causing windows explorer to crash. This is on several machines this has been tried, all running XP Pro SP2. When i plug the USB cable it it will recognise it on screen before the screen will cut out.

Should i reset the player to factory settings and ses if I have any luck with that or is there anything else i should try? I would format it if i could get control of it.

Yeah I would try resetting it to factory settings - there's not a lot to lose at this point.

Hi there,

I've tried other external hard disks on my machine, and they are being recognised. When i plug the PMP into my PC (XP pro Sp 2) or my laptop(Vista business premium SP1) it is making the windows explorer console stop responding and i get a message saying it has timed out before it could I/O to it(I'll screendump it if it ever happens again). It seems to be the player-is there a driver for it or is it plug and play?

On those operating systems it's as good as plug-and-play. You could try removing the driver for it from your Device Manager then reconnecting it to install it from scratch

You might of tried this, or it might not work.

But -

When explorer crashes, go to task manager (ctrl+alt+del on xp and vista) and end the explorer.exe process on the processess tab if it isn't already stopped.

The go to File>New Task (run...) - then type in explorer.exe and press enter/ok this will get windows explorer running again as normal (or hopefully will) then see if the device is visible in explorer (my computer)

I cant see why windows explorer crashes when he plugs in his unit if its a plug and play? Crashing of windows as far as i know is due to program conflicts?

because my s30 iubi PMP's sreen hang..but in start up not hang..there iubi welcome screen..

You'd probably be better off contacting the manufacturer directly.
