IUBI Broken again,this time out of warenty?

Hi my iubi,broken again this time a couple of months out of warranty.
Other than chuck it away,can i get it fixed through mp3 who i brought it through and they (fixed it?) sent it back and it broke again with the same problem,wont charge,although the red light goes on through usb,wont charge through its own wall charger.
What do i do please.
dont mind paying for repair.

Send an e-mail to returns@amp3.co.uk and tell them your situation, with your Sales Number from your original receipt and also the RMA No. from the initial return if you still have it. They may be able to send it on your behalf, or at least give you the details of who to send it to yourself.

hi,

bit naffed off with admp3,so my iubi has broken,and out of warranty.didnt mind paying for a fix,but they said that they cannot fix it,or they cannot sent iubi back to manufacturer as they have stopped production on iubi,and so cannot repair.Oh and they said i am welcom to find a repair company on the net but they cannot help me on that one or know that their is one?but i am more than welcome to send back my sixty gig iubi to them and they will sell me a refurbed 30 gig iubi fo 99 quid with a 3 month warrenty.

Well i have to chuck my iubi+leather case,and over 300 quid fo about 14 mnths use.I and once bitten twice shy,why oh why do mp3 think i would by a iubi 30 gig with a 3mnth warrenty with the problems ive had with mine.!

No,your reply is not at all offensive,and i still think that any item should be backed up in some respects if it go s out of warrenty,it just did seem to me that the idea of amp3c,just shrugged their shoulders and wanted a customer to buy a 3mnth warrenty product, hes just had problems with,so i am slightly bitter about your answer as my money is hard earned,and does not grow on trees every thirteen mnths to buy another.
so ive had to chuck the products in the bin,and looking at a itouch 16 gig later,but not from amp3c.

sorry just my feelings,and in my opinion peaple should stay away from the iubi.

Look the hard drives on here are ***** (No swearing please) - probably b-stock or refurbished from Toshiba. How do we crack open these units and replace the drives?

I've never opened an iubi before, but I'd imagine it'd be much like an iPod - get a flat object to pry it open at the join around the edge of the player. You may also need to heat it a little to loosen the adhesive.

This is only recommended on products that are out of warranty and not functional.

got it open. It uses a 1.8" drive. Plan on using a 1/8" drive to Compact Flash Adapter. Nice solid state player - no more skipping.


The battery is not holding a charge. My friend suggests the firmware might have done that. If not i am going to politely request they send another battery. It's like a flat 1/4" thick rectangle glued to the back of the unit.
