iRiver H10

Hello,
I've got an iRiver H10 which has recently stopped working, in that I can't seem to load anything on to it, even manually... Everytime I go into the media library, every folder has a "no entry" sign attached to it, nothing syncs and the Gracenotes music ID doesn't work. Really frustrating. Is it just because it's old (I bought it in 2004/5)? I bloody hate this about technology. I want to buy a new one but can't afford to until the spring. I'd be grateful for any help you can give me.

i think it does have something to do with it being old.

maybe it's time to buy a new one. after all, it's christmas. :)

Thanks but that's pretty outrageous - I don't expect it to do anything fancy but while it's still breathing, it should at least load! It is only four years old...

Sorry to hear about your problem with the H10. Have you tried reinstalling the firmware to see if that sorts out the problem - or formatting the player as a last resort?

Or alternatively if that doesn't work, you could try installing rockbox (www.rockbox.org) on it.
If it's a hardware failure, this probably won't make much difference though
