I-nique AA Battery Extender

I have just purchased an I-nique Battery Extender for my Michelin SatNav (DC5V 1A) which when in the car is powered by the cigarette lighter. When plugged in the SatNav power diode light is illuminated.

However when using with the I-nique, although the I-nique green power light is on, it does not power up the SatNav or even illuminate the diode light.

Anyone come up with a reason please.

If so, it's worth noting that the product description says it supports MP3 players and does not mention Sat Navs, so it may not be compatible.

What are the power requirements for the Sat Nav power supply?

The SatNav power requirements are: DC 5 volts 1A. Is the I-nique powerful enough?

Hi Rick_S,

Most USB devices such as MP3 players only draw a current of about half an amp, so I think that the current supply from the i-Nique is not going to be enough for your Sat Nav I'm afraid.

Do you know if there is a battery pack extender that pushes out DC 5 volts and a1 amp?

Not that I know of I'm afraid, but hopefully you'll find something to fit those specs.
