Creating a backup of your iPod

After having trouble myself with hard drive failure\'s on PC\'s and iPod\'s I decided i\'d create a backup of my music, (after losing it all once before and having to re-rip it all :( ) so here is how i did it for all those who want to know for themself!

• Connect iPod to PC
• Ensure you can see hidden folders and files
• open the ipod as a hard drive (my computer)
• Open the folder \'iPod Control\'
• open \'music\'
• there should be various folders label F00 - F** these contain your music files, encrypted,
• copy the encrypted files onto your hard drive (you can drag the F00 - F** folders all in one go)

If you can\'t see hidden folders, - go to tools / Folder Options / View - Hidden files and Folders

thats all your music now on the PC, you\'ll notice that they take the form of ABCD.mp4 or m4a whatever format you orignally ripped them as, if you wish to see what each song actually is, you\'ll need to put all the songs into itunes, which is as simple as dragging and dropping the songs into iTunes
