Converting avi

I have just recieved my Sony A808 and wanted to transfer some of my AVI movies to the device but the sonic software says that the file format is not supported. I used a converter I downloaded from the net and converted a file from AVI to MP4 succesfully but the sonic software again says that the file format is not supported. There is a mp4 demo on the device (Spiderman) that works. So what\'s going on?

Any ideas?

Sony A808 supports mp4 video format, that's right, you can check the video files, or maybe the problem results from the converter, take this software for a try, DELETED i use it for my phone, it works very well.

try using xilisoft video conveter...
or a specific video converter that is just build for your player..!

The answer I found was that I didn't need to convert using the software provided. All I had to do was drag and drop mp4's into a folder called video on the unit.
How simple is that and why didn't Sony say that you could do that!

There are online converters too like zamzar.com or media-convert.com.
