by I'd recommend MediaMonkey too (MM3 is currently in beta, and has the option to only send first artist if there are several listed. It is also not hard to finagle it so Album Artist gets to be put where Artist used to be, although that'll affect the main library on the PC as well).
Of course if you organize/play by folder and file you don't have this problem, it only happens if you use the tag library approach.
