Hi there hope this is in the right topic

I play music on my computer via creative media source

i have windows xp professional


When I sample a cd in I use jet audio or windows.

From this I can usually play the mp3 music file fine no probs but on the odd day like today when I go and double click on the file nothing happens, the file will not open and play.

I double click on the file nothing happens, I cannot copy, delete, or cut the file as it almost is like its frozen.

You can right click on the file to bring down a strange drop down menu. When you try and click on these they do not work.

The only way to unfreeze the mp3 music file is to rename the folder it is in e.g kayne west i have to change to kk, gg, ff, etc..

then when i go back to the music file it unfreezes and i can play it etc,

but as soon as i change the folder name back the song freezes again

obviously im rather ticked off about this

can any 1 help

e.g. my friend installed some software called wavepad i unistalled it and these errors happen which i mentioned above

Again, as with the prev reply.., i am also a little stumped as to a solution to give.

I do, however, recall the app (Wavepad) mentioned and also recall some issues with weird happenings and probs after i uninstalled the total waste of space app that it was.

I guess i could, when a machine comes spare here, see if i can replicate and hence remember how to revert things to normal (can replicate closely, as it goes, since i also use CMS on some setups).

In the meantime, good luck with your own efforts, and if the blindingly obvious answer/solution ever drags it'self back out of the aging and failing memory at this end, will post it :D
